Point Reyes National Seashore

Point Reyes National Seashore is open to visitors every day of the year! The park is open from 6 am to midnight. (Visit our Visitor Centers web page, for the hours for the Bear Valley Visitor Center, the Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center at Drakes Beach, and the Point Reyes Lighthouse and the stairs leading down to the lighthouse.) Overnight parking is only permitted in the park with a valid backcountry camping permit or for visitors staying at the Point Reyes Hostel.

Entrance fees

No entrance fee.

No entrance fee is charged at Point Reyes National Seashore. Point Reyes National Seashore charges no fees for parking at visitor centers, beaches, or trailheads or for day-use activities, such as hiking, wildlife viewing, bicycle riding, kayaking, horse riding, fishing, attending ranger-led programs, visiting the Point Reyes Lighthouse, picnicking (25 persons or fewer), etc. The only fees are for overnight camping and for special use permits, such as for weddings, sporting events, picnics in the reservable Bear Valley Group Picnic Area, and picnics with more than 25 persons.
